When Anna and I talked about me photographing her second babies’ birth, we both knew things would go quick. Her first son came with barely enough time to get to the hospital. For her second, Anna made her husband learn the basics of delivering a baby just in case! This was just how quick her birthing process happened! So, when we talked about me being there for the birth, capturing it all didn’t seem possible. But we aimed high for it and thankfully I made it in time after receiving the wake up call at 5am. After getting to the hospital at 5:45am, twenty minutes later caleb was born!
Anna is so strong! She’s had two children naturally and drug free(not by choice!). Her second birth went so fast, I couldn’t help but want to give her a huge hug as I was photographing it all happen. But thankfully, it all happened very fast for her and before long the blessing of their baby boy was there.
Congratulations to you both on your beautiful second addition to the family. And thanks for allowing me the honor of being there to capture the moment for you!

Birth Stories are such a special event in your life that you want to remember forever. Although, it may seem like it would be very awkward to have someone there to photograph your time, once you are in the moment of labor… you won’t even know it. I stay out of the way and capture everything candidly. If things get intense and I feel it best if I leave for a bit, then I do. Everything is captured in a way that doesn’t “show all” and in the end is a beautiful story. Birth will only happen for a few chances in your life… why not capture it?
